Split PDF

Splitting a PDF breaks one document into several smaller PDF files, and DocShift lets you choose exactly which pages go where by typing a range like 1-3, 5, 7-10 into the page-range field — that produces one file for pages 1 through 3, one for page 5, and one for pages 7 through 10. Leave the field blank instead, and every single page becomes its own separate PDF, which is the default when you want a document fully broken apart rather than trimmed into a handful of ranges. Quick-select buttons fill in that field for you — All Pages, Odd Pages, Even Pages, or First Page Only — though the Odd and Even presets are built for documents up to 16 pages; for anything longer, type your own comma-separated pattern instead. The tool works on one PDF at a time, so start from whichever document you need broken apart.

Because a split can produce more than one output file, the result always downloads as a single ZIP archive, even when your range produces just one PDF. Inside, each file is named for the pages it holds — page-3.pdf or pages-5-to-9.pdf — so you aren't stuck guessing which download is which. Once you've got your pieces, Merge PDF can put a chosen subset back together, and Remove Pages is the better pick if you only want a couple of pages gone rather than the whole document cut apart.
