Compare PDF extracts the text from two PDF files, lines it up with a line-by-line diff, and returns a plain-text report listing exactly which lines were added and which were removed between the two versions.
Both PDFs are converted to plain text first, then the report opens with a header giving each document's line count, and page count when it's available, followed by a result line — either that the text is identical, in which case the diff body is skipped entirely, or an exact count of lines removed and added. Every changed line below that is marked with a leading "-" (found only in the first file) or "+" (found only in the second), with unmarked lines left as-is where both versions match. For a contract or lease redline, that means a literal list of which lines of text changed between v1 and v2, in document order, rather than a visual side-by-side render: there's no color highlighting or annotated PDF, just a downloadable comparison-report.txt of the differences.
Upload order matters — the first PDF you add becomes Document A and the second becomes Document B in the report — and the tool needs exactly two files; a third file or a single upload won't run. Each document's text is compared up to 5,000 lines, enough for most contracts and reports, and the comparison only looks at extracted text — image content, formatting, and page-layout differences don't appear in the report at all. Once a version checks out, merge it with related files, or lock whichever version you keep with a password before sending it onward.

No — different lengths work fine. The diff is not page-by-page; it is a straight line-level comparison across each file's full extracted text, so an entire added page just shows up as a run of consecutive "+" lines rather than a labeled "page added" event.
No — it is a text-only comparison. Text is extracted from both PDFs and diffed line by line, so differences in images, formatting, or layout that do not change the extracted text will not appear in the report.
A line starting with "-" exists only in the first PDF you uploaded (Document A); a line starting with "+" exists only in the second (Document B). Unmarked lines are unchanged and appear in both.
Yes — each document is compared up to 5,000 extracted text lines, which covers the vast majority of contracts, letters, and reports.
Whichever PDF you added to the upload panel first becomes Document A; the second one becomes Document B. Swap the upload order if you want the diff read the other way around.
