Sign PDF lets you type your name in a script-style font and stamp it onto the bottom of a document's last page, skipping the print-sign-scan routine entirely. Choose from four handwriting-style fonts — from a flowing cursive to a blockier casual script — and DocShift renders your typed name as real text on the page alongside a dated "Digitally signed" caption noting when the file was marked as signed. That output is a visible signature mark, not a scanned image and not a certificate-based digital signature tied to a certificate authority.
That distinction is worth understanding before you rely on it for anything important. A typed signature like this is a reasonable stand-in for casual approvals, internal sign-off, and drafts passed between colleagues, where all that matters is showing someone reviewed and agreed to a document. It is not the same as a cryptographically verifiable e-signature issued by a dedicated certificate-based signing service, and it should not replace one for contracts, notarized paperwork, or anything else where you need to prove, beyond a visual glance, exactly who signed a file and that it has not changed since. When a document genuinely needs that level of certainty, a certificate-based e-signature provider built for it is the safer choice.
Once signed, you can lock the file with a password so it cannot be edited further, or stamp a watermark alongside the signature for extra visibility. Just protect it after signing, not before — DocShift's signer cannot open a file that is already password-encrypted.
